toy stitchers emerged during the first years of motherhood, when experiences of joy, wonder, grief, and reflection often existed side by side. The series combines large-scale digital prints, macro photography, sewing, and sculptural elements to explore childhood, memory, and the ways perspective shifts across generations. Enlarged toys take on new significance, reflecting the experience of seeing the world through the eyes of a young child – everyday objects becoming sites of fascination, discovery, and play. The works are physically attached to the wall using cast silver baby figures transformed into nails. These function as both fasteners and symbols – children shape, anchor, and transform our understanding of the world. The series was created during a period of intense reflection on childhood – experiences of grief related to my own past existed alongside the exhilaration of witnessing a child’s curiosity and joy.
