japanese bound book, kodalith darkroom photographs
5″ x 8″
bluurb finger is one of my earliest artist books, created as a walk through my Brooklyn neighborhood. The book introduces a character whose perspective becomes a way of moving through and interpreting the surrounding streets. Using Japanese binding, folded Japanese paper has been cut to reveal photographic Kodalith images beneath the surface. The neighborhood gradually appears, through partial views, openings, and shifts in scale. The familiar becomes strange, playful, and newly visible.
