metamorphosis is a collaborative series created with my husband. As printers with distinct visual languages and approaches to image-making, we developed the work through an ongoing process of exchange. The stone passed back and forth between us, each responding to, altering, and building upon the marks of the other. The series explores transformation as both a visual and conceptual process. Images evolved through layers of intervention, often shifting far from their original forms or intentions. Representational elements gradually became symbols, accumulating multiple and sometimes contradictory meanings as they moved through successive stages of revision. Individual authorship became less important than the dialogue created through making, responding, and reimagining.
