hook pull it transforms utilitarian objects into figures with distinct personalities, relationships, and emotional lives. Hooks that once served a purely functional purpose begin to resemble bodies that smile, embrace, lean, support, and interact with one another. Removed from their intended use, they become characters rather than tools. The series combines these forms with imagery drawn from books, recipes, household manuals, and idealized representations of mid-century family life. These materials carry cultural narratives about home, care, responsibility, and belonging. Within these constructed worlds, the hooks take on new roles, appearing playful, weary, affectionate, mischievous, or burdened. The work considers the relationship between function and identity. Objects designed to hold, support, and carry weight become stand-ins for the people who perform those same roles within families and communities.
