dressed – combines embroidered utensils, vacuums, and lace cut from a child’s dress to explore the visual language of domesticity, femininity, and adornment. Household objects associated with maintenance and daily routines are paired with decorative materials, creating relationships between work, beauty, memory, and play. The circular lace elements cut from a small dress reference childhood and the cultural expectations often attached to girls from an early age. Placed alongside tools of domestic labor, together they mark ideas about care, responsibility, and femininity. At the same time, the work approaches these themes with humor and curiosity rather than critique alone. Vacuums become characters, utensils become ornament, and ordinary objects are transformed through pattern, embroidery, and embellishment. The pleasure of making is also central to the series.
