records explores the extraordinary visual worlds hidden within ordinary objects. Using a macro lens, I photographed the grooves, colors, and surfaces of vinyl records until they became landscapes of line, rhythm, texture, and light. The work is rooted in close observation and a fascination with the details that often go unnoticed in daily life. Magnification transforms the familiar into something unexpected, revealing compositions that exist just beyond the limits of ordinary perception. I revel in the small worlds at our fingertips that we often overlook, or cannot fully see without the lens of a camera.
