fluff chemistry reflects on the complexities of love, partnership, memory, and identity over time. Combining imagery of knots, dogs, playing children, flowers, mathematical formulas, and chemical structures, the work brings together fragments of daily life, affection, responsibility, and shared history. These elements function as markers of a life built together, shaped by both joy and challenge. The work emerged during a period of reflection on differentiation, the ongoing process of maintaining a sense of self within intimate relationships and family life. Throughout the piece, patterns derived from men’s work shirts reference partnership, labor, familiarity, and presence. As the pages unfold, the central female figure gradually loses color, suggesting the ways identity can shift, fade, or become obscured through years of caregiving, devotion, and adaptation. Memory plays an important role within the work. Some moments remain vivid while others are forgotten, altered, or lost. The imagery moves between celebration and uncertainty, acknowledging both the beauty and complexity of a shared life.
